Acceptable Use Policy

This policy is part of the Terms of Service for SelfScope (the “Service”), operated by Browns Assorted Merchandise. If you do not agree to it, do not use the Service.
1. Authorised use only — the core rule
The Service is for authorised penetration testing, security research, and legitimate privacy protection ONLY: work on systems, networks, and data that you own, or that you have explicit, verifiable permission to test, in a training, lab, or professionally authorised context. You are fully responsible for your legal compliance in every jurisdiction that applies to you.
2. What is prohibited
You must not use the Service, its concepts, or its outputs to:
— access, attempt to access, probe, scan, disrupt, or damage any system, network, account, or data without the owner's authorisation, or in breach of any applicable computer-misuse, hacking, wiretapping, fraud, or privacy law;
— plan, facilitate, or carry out unauthorised access, hacking, or any other illegal activity, or to evade law enforcement;
— impersonate a real person, or use a synthetic persona or simulated identity generated in the Service to deceive, defraud, or misrepresent who you are to any third party (simulated identities are fictional training data only);
— infringe anyone's intellectual-property, privacy, or other rights, or upload / enter real personal data about third parties into the Service;
— share, rent, resell, or publicly expose your account or login credentials, scrape or overload the Service, probe the Service itself for vulnerabilities outside an authorised engagement with Browns Assorted Merchandise, or interfere with other users' access;
— circumvent the paywall, payment, or access controls of the Service, or use a payment method you are not authorised to use.
3. Honesty disclosure — what the tools do and do not do
The fingerprint self-audit measures your own browser only — it does not spoof, mask, or change any fingerprint. Connection checks test endpoints you supply — the Service does not proxy or anonymise your traffic. Personas are synthetic lab data. The port check tests one host and one well-known port at a time, only with your explicit authorisation confirmation, and is rate-limited and audit-logged. Legacy dashboard statistics, proxy-chain, and terminal views are simulated and labelled as such. Do not rely on the Service for anonymity or protection in any real activity, and do not represent its outputs to any employer, client, or third party as something they are not. Removing or misrepresenting the “simulated” / synthetic labels in anything you publish about the Service is a breach of this policy.
4. Enforcement — suspension for abuse
Browns Assorted Merchandise may, at its discretion and with or without notice where the law allows: investigate suspected breaches of this policy using account and activity-log data as described in the Privacy Policy; warn you; restrict features; or suspend or terminate your account, including paid accounts, for abuse. Where a paid account is terminated for a breach of this policy, no refund is due for the unused part of a subscription period or of a lifetime purchase, except where the law requires otherwise. Serious or unlawful misuse may be reported to relevant authorities.
5. Billing, cancellation and refunds (summary)
The full billing terms are in sections 4–6 of the Terms of Service. In summary: Pro subscriptions (currently displayed as $29/month or $279/year, after a 14-day free trial) renew automatically until cancelled via the “Manage Subscription” button in the app or via [CONTACT EMAIL], and access normally continues to the end of the paid period; Founder Lifetime access (currently displayed as $499 one-time, first 100 buyers only, excluding future metered services) is a single payment for the lifetime of the product as defined in the Terms; and the refund window is 30 days under the 30-day money-back guarantee stated in section 6 of the Terms. This summary never overrides the Terms.
6. Reporting misuse
To report abuse of the Service, or to appeal a suspension, contact [CONTACT EMAIL] with your username and the relevant details. Appeals are reviewed, but a decision by Browns Assorted Merchandise is final except where the law provides otherwise.
7. Changes
We may update this policy; the version on this page with its effective date is current. Continued use of the Service after an update takes effect is acceptance of the updated policy, except where the law requires a different form of consent.
